Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering is a great way for parents and community members to experience, first-hand, the great things that are going on in our school! Teachers and staff love the extra help, and students benefit from the additional attention and interaction. Anyone interested in volunteering is encouraged to visit the front office. Parent Watch – Volunteers will be outside of the school before and after school, monitoring traffic, helping children safely cross streets, and ensuring that school rules are followed. Nurse’s office – Volunteer will make ice packs. Front Office – Volunteer will help make photocopies and prepare information for Thursday Folders. McGuire (Art) – Volunteer will help with various projects, as well as hang artwork. Coffman (Library) – Volunteer will help with book checkout and shelving books. Grady (Physical Education) – Volunteers will help monitor the walk/jog program during recess. Classroom Assistants – Volunteers will help classroom teachers with various tasks, depending on the interests of the individual volunteer. Tasks could include, but are not limited to: photocopying, cutting/stapling, reading with children, listening as children read, displaying student work, and other tasks which are helpful to the teacher.
